In case you were wondering, some of the parts to make my groovy Rough Riders were sculpted by Rob at Curious Constructs.

Introducing a new 40k Guard army!

After receiving some pickelhaube heads from Curious Constructs I have started on a new small regiment.

Full fluff to follow but to give you an idea...

“The great questions of the day will not be settled by means of speeches and majority decisions but by iron and blood.”

"Where some states have an army, the Prutenian Army has a state!”

“The less people know about how sausages and laws are made, the better they'll sleep at night”

I can say for sure that they will be from a planet in the Praetorian Sector. With a foundation of professionalism, aggressiveness, militarism and conservatism, they will make interesting neighbours for our Praetorian buddies.

(Obviously, they are heads swaps on Steel legion bodies.) The heads are a little big , but with the big gloves and boots I think it works ok.

    1. Cheers for that. It has been a process of picking the right head for the right body because some of them look ridiculous but others aren't too bad.

    1. no, I couldn't save the Steel Legion heads. I am currently working on 40 of them so I just took the heads off as quickly as possible while being careful not to damage the bodies. It was going to be too difficult to get under the masks and cut at the necks and then re-sculpt the collars, so I cut the top of the head off and then cleaned the rest with my Dremel.

  3. Could be slight abhuman-ish to explain the larger heads? either way, this force already has lots of character. Looking forward to more!

    1. LOL, abhuman Prussians/Germans? I'd have to be careful not to play into any offensive stereotypes! still, I like the idea.
